Frequently asked questions

What is trailing drawdown?

Trailing drawdown is the maximum loss limit on a funded futures account. The floor rises as your balance climbs — give that profit back and you can breach the account even if you started profitable.

Intraday vs end-of-day trailing — what's the difference?

Intraday trailing (Apex Intraday, Topstep) moves with every tick of unrealized equity. End-of-day (Apex EOD, Tradeify) only recalculates at session close on closed P&L. Same firm, very different risk profile.

When does the trailing floor lock?

The floor stops trailing once you've banked enough profit. Apex locks $100 above your starting balance; Topstep funded locks at starting balance. Until then, every dollar of profit you give back moves the floor.
